ACID START-UP BATTERIES Acid batteries: acid batteries require maintenance, but they are the most popular and widely used in the market. These types of batteries have two main uses: (A) Starting (red), and those batteries used for Equipment and Services. The main difference between these two types of batteries is that the Starting batteries allow up to 6 deep discharges (cycles) before the internal plates begin to deteriorate and suffer a progressive reduction in their capacity. In addition it is necessary to always keep them properly charged and not leave them without use during long periods of time. (B) Service (yellow), allow up to 600 discharges (deep cycle) and for this reason they are recommended to supply boat equipment that requires uninterruptible power supply (fridges,lights, etc) Technology: Lead-acid with electrolyte liquid with Ca/Ca alloy, and ports for gas release.
